In the 21st century, humans have formed an interconnected network that spans the globe. Our memory is fused with the internet we have created; the span of our personal and collective abilities have been augmented by the technology we conspire to build and depend on. An event in New York, Kabul or Singapore can be felt across the planet in an instant, eliciting emotions and decisions that can nudge us all on a new tangent. At the same time, our growing insight into the Universe that surrounds us continues to reveal more about our solar system and brings new questions and new dilemmas.

The Daily Galaxy’s mission is simple: to provide an independent, broad perspective on what happens in and around Planet Earth. Our stories have no political, religious or ideological affiliation, but instead muse on the philosophical challenges posed by them. Each one touches on a current of life’s evolutionary flow and leaves us to question its relevance to an uncertain future.

Whatever our philosophical or theological leanings, we might imagine Earth as we imagine ourselves: a living being, a sentient being; a curious creature on a voyage of self-discovery and survival. A world that has awoken to a reality that has yet to be fully understood. Life on Earth is intrinsically influenced has internal conflicts, insecurities and vices whose origins are a complex mix of nurture and nature. With the pass of time, Earth is evolving, acquiring knowledge, questioning its position in the Universe, where it came from, what lies ahead.
